Key requirements:

  • You will need to be a current SCA member, 18 years or older, AND be a current warranted Marshal within the Kingdom of Lochac
  • Reliable and responsive access to email and internet connection
  • Ability to keep on top of a variety of related administrative tasks

Key elements of the job:

  • Encouraging the development of chivalry on the field
  • Development, maintenance, publication and enforcement of the Kingdom standards for construction and use of weapons and armour

Baronial Herald

Oyez!

Stormhold seeks a new Herald! Whether it’s the pageantry or pain-staking heraldic processes that appeals, now’s the time to fly the flag.

Key requirements:

  • You will need to be a current SCA member, 18 years or older
  • Reliable and responsive access to email
  • Ability to keep on top of a variety of related administrative tasks
  • Skills in the various aspects of heraldry are useful, but keep in mind that an officer’s job is to see that the work is done, not to do all the work themselves – there will be people able to help with other heraldic skills.
You may not think that you are the right person for this job, but if your friends forward you a copy of this notice, pay attention to them! And if you know someone who you think would be good in the job, do them (and all of us) a favour – ask them to apply.

Key elements of the job:

  • over-seeing the operations of heraldic activities in the Stormhold
  • reporting on and communicating with others regarding awards, submissions and other heraldic operations
  • You’ll find more detailed information about this role in the Officer Job Descriptions Document at https://seneschal.lochac.sca.org/resources#officer

Please send your applications by 9 December 2023 to crux@lochac.sca.org, with a courtesy copy to seneschal@stormhold.lochac.sca.org.

If you would like to know more about the job, or to discuss how you see yourself taking it forward, I would love to hear from you!

Greetings!

Are you an avid internet user? Do you enjoy perusing websites and referencing online materials? Are you good at communicating via online methods? Do you have an interest in content management and information sharing?

If so, then we have a role for you!

As my term as Stormhold Webwright is coming to an end, we are seeking a replacement.

The Webwright (also known as Webscribe) is in charge of creating and updating group Web pages and mail redirections, and keeping group communications and information flowing smoothly.

This role requires:

  • current SCA membership and be aged at least 18
  • capabilities in Website page creation, HTML, graphics manipulation, associated site management, associated computer/email support and a good sense for both accretion and rapid turnaround of useful information – it’s the most important part of the job!
  • reliable email and internet access

The workload includes such elements as:

  • Typically monthly updating of websites, especially group calendars, events and other notices and other timely material, removing outdated material while preserving important resources and historical information.
Reporting to or attending group meetings.
  • Notifications to mailing lists, checking lists for notices or comments and adding to online calendars or to special pages.
  • Mailing list moderation: mostly deleting spam and occasionally assisting subscribers.
  • Active monitoring of local discussion and announcement lists is essential, other lists and relevant social media very desirable. Twice-annual checking/reporting of page visit statistics and numbers subscribed to local email lists is desirable.
  • Advising and assisting Webwrights for sub-groups as required.

You’ll find more detailed information about this role in the Officer Job Descriptions Document at https://seneschal.lochac.sca.org/resources#officer

The successful applicant will be given a comprehensive handover by the outgoing Webwright.
